Leadership Transition in Administration & Finance

Dear faculty and staff,

I am writing to share an important leadership update.

Dr. Edwin Litolff, vice president for Administration & Finance and chief financial officer, has accepted a new position with the University of Louisiana System. Effective Oct. 5, he will serve as vice president for Institutional Risk and Compliance. In this newly established role, Edwin will work with system leadership, campus presidents and their teams to identify significant risks, strengthen institutional practices and support long-term sustainability. His work and experience will continue to benefit Â鶹ҹÊÐ.

Since joining us in August 2025, Edwin helped guide the University through one of the most challenging financial periods in its history. He brought steady judgment and a deep commitment to protecting our academic mission. I am grateful for his partnership, his service and the care he has shown our University.

Thomas “Tommy Smith will serve as interim chief financial officer. Tommy brings more than 30 years of finance experience at LSU, where he served as associate vice president for Budget and Planning, vice provost for Finance, and interim CFO. His extensive background includes financial planning, accounting, budgeting, procurement and other university operations. His experience will help us sustain financial discipline while pursuing new opportunities for strategic growth and revenue.

Please join me in congratulating Edwin on his new role and thanking him for his service. I also hope you will give Tommy a warm Ragin’ Cajuns welcome.

Sincerely,

Dr. Ramesh Kolluru
President
